Our Mission…


Virginians for Reliable Energy is a statewide coalition of individuals and businesses dedicated to ensuring that Virginia has sufficient supplies of reliable, affordable and responsibly produced energy to meet the needs of its citizens and businesses. Given the importance of energy to economic vitality and personal well-being, the coalition’s intent is to enhance Virginia’s energy security, protect against potential disruptions caused by over-reliance on any one source of energy, and promote stable prices.

To achieve these goals, the coalition supports:



• A robust electric transmission infrastructure designed to meet current and future energy needs;
  
• Cost-effective energy conservation actions; and
  
• A diverse and ample portfolio of electricity generation located within the Commonwealth, including renewable energy and traditional sources.
  
  In this effort, the coalition will work to heighten public understanding of energy-related issues, promote long-term energy planning and infrastructure construction, and communicate ways the business community and general public can minimize demand by adopting conservation best practices.
